3 men face drug possession, other charges after Illinois raid

On Behalf of | Nov 26, 2014 | Drug Charges |

The people in this country have many rights to protect them from the government. In many cases, an accused person’s rights were violated. Many people without experience with the law would most likely be unsure how to address such a violation. Three men in Illinois will likely want to ensure their rights were not violated after a raid that resulted in drug possession and other charges in Illinois.

Police say they targeted what a press release described as a drug house. However, it is unclear what initially brought the house to their attention. Reports indicate that it was raided after a two-week long investigation.

Several different drugs, including marijuana, heroin and cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia, weapons and thousands in cash were allegedly recovered in the raid. Three men, ranging in ages from 28 to 31, now face multiple charges as a result. How the men were connected to the house or if they all lived there is uncertain at this time. Two of the men are being held on a $1 million bond, while the third is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The Illinois men in this case would likely benefit from a skilled, experienced attorney who can ensure that their rights are preserved. Such an attorney can examine the events leading up to the charges and attempt to prevent certain evidence from being used in court. Many attorneys will work with a client to build a defense while simultaneously negotiating with prosecutors for a plea deal and reduced charges, though the decision as to how to proceed ultimately rests with the client. Most importantly, an Illinois attorney can help the men accused of drug possession and other charges pursue the best possible outcome for their individual case.
